As you might know, long road trips might be exhausting. Here I am going to share some tips and tricks to have it fun, memorable and joyful.
Recently we went for 3 days to Chicago from Toronto. It
takes approximately 10 hours to drive. So before hitting the road, you have to
make some preparations:
- Print out some free coloring pages. Crayola has for every taste and gender.
- Free printable road trip activities from Pinterest. Your kids are going to love those games.
- Other way to keep your kids busy – prepare interesting and delicious snacks. You will find great ideas here : https://www.pinterest.ca/TravelingMoms/travel-snacks/
- Games, you can play with your kids while on a road:
-
Road trip bingo. Prepare hard copy of a Bingo
game, you can find different ones online. Choose couple of them that you like. And
have a marker, of course to mark it😉
-
I Spy. One player say: “I spy with my little eye,
something green.” And then the other one is guessing. Then they change turns. It is so easy to learn, even for small kids. They can
play this game for a very long time.
-
“I am going on a picnic…”. Great game for
the whole family. First player say “I am going on the picnic and bring
(something that starts with a letter A) apples”. The second one repeats the
first part of the game and say something that start with a letter B, and so on.
It is great game to review alphabet.
-
Connect the dots. Such a fun game for
every age! You can find free printable connect-the-dots game sheet and instructions for this game as well.
Hope you find my ideas helpful and before hitting the road
with little ones you will be prepared😉
